About My Clients

I’m passionate about working with LGTBQ+ folks, neurodivergent adults, and people struggling with anxiety, caregiver burnout, disordered eating, addictive behaviors, and more. My goal is to cultivate a supportive and collaborative environment. I aim to equip my clients with the skills to process their internal experiences and to manage and alleviate distressing emotions.

My Background and Approach

I graduated from UConn School of Social Work in 2022, and I'm currently pursuing my PhD at UConn, with a focus in social work research. In session, I utilize a holistic approach, recognizing how someone's environment and life experiences impact mental health. As an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, I understand how different identities impact folks experiences. Acknowledging this and integrating it into treatment is extremely valuable in the healing process. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) which is effecting in helping clients recognize the connection between their thoughts and feelings. Once they identify those patterns they are able to re-frame their negative beliefs- which leads to an improved mood and outlook on life. I also utilize DBT therapy techniques, which equips clients with specific skills they can use to manage overwhelming emotions. It also helps them develop strong interpersonal skills that improves the quality of their relationships with others.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep-seated passion for empowering individuals, particularly for those in the LGBTQ+ community. In 2022, I completed a dual Masters in Social Work and Public Health at the University of CT and have been a speaker at numerous LGTBQ+ events. I strongly believe that everyone has the ability to heal from their experiences with the right support and connections. The phrase “it takes a village” doesn’t only apply to raising children—healing can become so much easier when there are people you can lean on. In my practice, I foster an environment of trust and psychological safety, where clients feel secure to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I actively listen and provide gentle guidance to ensure clients feel supported. Over time, I assist them in developing coping strategies that help them navigate through their lives with confidence and clarity.
