About My Clients
Are you feeling tense, on guard or on edge? Are you easily startled? Do you have difficulty concentrating, falling a sleep or staying a sleep? Are you feeling irritated, angry or having outbursts? All these may be symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (P.T.S.D.) or complex trauma. Some times these symptoms can be misdiagnosed from someone not familiar with P.T.S.D. or complex trauma. There are holistic practices to help you feel better. I can help you move forward to feeling better.
My Background and Approach
I am certified and trained in several different therapy approaches to help you. My goal is to offer you different tools and techniques to help you move forward in your healing. People are complex individuals and we required different techniques to help us heal from our past or current traumas.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe "we are all onions and we have a lot of layers." I borrowed this concept from Shrek because I believe it to be true. The onion analogy helps me stay curious about the person in front of me in the therapy relationship. I cannot assume I know what the person is experiencing therefore, I must stay curious to help them in the healing process. Each person has several different layers of experiences, beliefs, values, childhood, environments, family of origin, family dynamics and relationships....the list can go on and on for each person. I treat each person as an individual rather than a diagnosis. This is why I train in many different therapy modalities because I want to treat the person and their individual experience.
