About My Clients
I work almost exclusively with survivors of narcissistic abuse, childhood trauma, C-PTSD, and those diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Most of my clients are adult women seeking to leave emotionally and/or physically abusive relationships, or recover from the relational trauma encountered in abusive relationships with partners and/or parents.
My Background and Approach
I approach each client's situation individually and from a trauma-informed framework. Trauma can lead to self-harm/suicidal behaviors, addiction (chemical and relational), relationship disruption and dysregulation, and over-performing, among many other things. I seek to partner with trauma survivors and identify the core wounds and early beliefs that lead to these adaptive, survival behaviors and heal early trauma. I am trained in CBT, DBT, Feminist theory, EMDR, and IFS, among several other approaches. I utilize many trauma-focused theories in my work, and have seen drastic improvement in clients with these approaches. In the last few years, I have worked almost exclusively with survivors of narcissistic/hidden abuse. When survivors are able to identify early wounds and vulnerabilities to narcissistic abuse are they able to truly disengage from these relationships and begin to heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am politically progressive and am deeply committed to equity, inclusivity, and social justice. I have a specific interest in bringing awareness to hidden (emotional) abuse and am working on a nonprofit to bring awareness and systemic change to survivors of relational abuse. For more information, please see www.hiddenabuse.net. While on a hiatus from my clinical work to raise small children, I volunteered with HRC (Human Rights Campaign) in conjunction with the Anti Defamation League to train school personnel to be more responsive to the needs of LGBTQ+ students and families, and saw nearly immediate, positive results . While this is not the primary focus of my work, I am also the proud parent of a nonbinary child; This history and personal experience helps me be a strong ally.
