About My Clients

I specialize working with clients who navigating grief, crisis, and life transitions. My clients may be dealing with profound loss or sadness resulting from breakups, losing a job, moving, a loved one's illness, or more. I work with clients to build resilience and post-traumatic growth. I run a caretakers support group called Somebody I Love is Sick, and also conduct individual therapy. I also have experience working with trans / queer communities, and in harm reduction.

My Background and Approach

I am trained as both a community organizer as well as a therapist, and both inform my practice. I uphold the belief that it is, more often than not, impossible to decouple personal and societal traumas. Reactions to climate disaster, the covid-19 pandemic, economic precarity, and other forms of oppression are all valid reasons to seek professional support. My interactive approach avoids solely pathologizing clients and, instead, examines the broader communities we occupy & the agency we have to make incremental changes.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in practicing a feminist modality of therapy. My intersectional feminist approach to therapy is intended for people of all genders. Feminist therapy recognizes the role of gender and sexuality based oppression in shaping human behavior. In feminist therapy there is a boundaried, yet egalitarian, relationship between the therapist and the client. The therapist’s experience and psychodynamic training, and the client’s understanding of their own self, are both of equal importance. Equality within this relationship is used to model healthier relationships for healing.
