About My Clients
I support high achievers who struggle with anxiety, people-pleasing, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and a loud inner-critic afraid of disappointing others. I’ll help you understand why your inner critic has become so mean and, more importantly, I’ll help you interrupt your negative self-talk and replace your inner voice with a kind, encouraging, supportive inner voice. Together, we’ll help you become as nice to yourself as you are to others. I see clients in Ridgefield, CT & virtually (CA/CT)
My Background and Approach
I spent the first 20 years of my professional career living in Los Angeles. I started in college access and higher education admissions and after realizing just how much mental health shaped my students' lives. For the past 10 years, I've worked as a school counselor for grades K-12 in public and private settings. I've spent the past 4 years teaching in Graduate Psychology & Counseling programs. I've also worked in private practice with adults and teens. I hold a CA Credential in School Counseling and multiple therapy/counseling licenses MFT (CA), PCC (CA), and PC (CT). Now, I've relocated with my family to the East Coast and am excited to support teens and adults through the challenges of self-doubt, perfectionism, and people pleasing. I also love supporting the emotional needs of parents who are raising a child with big emotions and learning differences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I couldn't be a therapist if I didn't believe in the power of change. I understand how hard it can be to change old patterns and recognize that therapy is a big investment of time, money, and energy. I believe that our individual challenges are often rooted in bigger social challenges and being able to hold that the personal is political (and the political is personal) close to my practice. I also believe that self-care is a radical act (Audre Lorde) I want all of my clients to see progress and celebrate even the smallest wins. I want clients to feel that their time with me is truly valuable. I aim to make sessions something to look forward to, sometimes integrating laughter, creativity, and sometimes arts and crafts (even virtually)—especially when the work feels hard.
