About My Clients
Do you wonder if there is something 'more' for you? Or are you feeling stuck in a rut in life or at work? I specialize in identity formation, career counseling, anxiety and depression management and work primarily with clients ranging in age from emerging adulthood through retirement years. My clients often come to me looking to better understand themselves and how they wish to 'show up' in the world. Through our work together, they experience growth in self-confidence and self-awareness.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional counselor and a certified career counselor. My background and experience lies at the intersection of mental health and career. Perhaps you wake up every day dreading going into work or you feel anxious when you think about the future. My goal in our work together is to help you “minimize the noise” that comes from the world around us and understand and trust your own process. If you’ve ever asked multiple friends for advice on whether to ask for a promotion, take a new opportunity, break up with a partner etc. it is likely you received different and potentially even contradictory information from each person! I work with clients to help them make sense of the noise, develop an ear to hear themselves and find their own internal compass.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Outside of my counseling work, I consider myself an educator and an advocate. I have worked on two National Science Foundation (NSF) funded grants to assist adult learners and BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals in STEM fields. Outside of work, I am is an active volunteer in the National Career Development Association, serving on the Government Relations Committee (in conjunction with the American Counseling Association) to help further career development support at a local and national level. In my spare time, I love spending time with my wife, our two dogs, and getting junior ranger badges from all the national parks.
