About My Clients
My experience has mainly been working with young adult - adult clients to navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, LGBTQ+ identities and coming out, acculturation between family and Western society expectations, career exploration, and body positivity, to name a few.
My Background and Approach
I obtained my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am currently working as a limited licensed professional counselor. I have completed all of my coursework towards my degree including, but not limited to, crisis counseling, career counseling, case management, assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning, multicultural counseling, group counseling, addictions counseling, practice with LGBTQ+ persons, couple & family counseling, and trauma informed counseling. I use a person-centered approach to therapy and believe that the client ultimately knows themselves best, and the therapist’s goal is to help guide the client in their journey of healing and wellness through unconditional support and empathy. Navigating life can be difficult, so I use Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Emotion-Focused, Mindfulness, career, trauma-informed, and grief-informed approaches, techniques, and interventions to help my clients understand their lived experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that anyone can change and grow at anytime in their lives, no matter where they come from or how they identify. I do not believe there is a a limit to personal wellness and healing. I identify with the LGBTQ+/queer community and have been advocating for personal expression of identity and sexuality since I was a teenager. Although we can have communities that we feel at home in, no label can box us in as to who we are; we get to define ourselves!
