About My Clients
~*~ I am currently not accepting new clients ~*~ I work with clients who have marginalized experiences in the world. As a radically-oriented relational therapist, I enjoy working with clients who want to explore the connections between systems of oppression, intergenerational trauma, and/or childhood trauma as they relate to current struggles they are facing. As a member of the community, I am excited to work with trans, non-binary, queer, and all LGBTQI2SIA+ identified people.
My Background and Approach
As a trauma-informed relational and experiential therapist, my focus is on being present with and responsive to vulnerable feelings while providing validation, attunement, and gentle guidance. My approach is depth-based, as I help you to identify and work through the emotional origins of your struggles, whether by identifying specific roots or simply experiencing and helping resolve associated feelings as they arise. I use the therapist-client relationship to explore relational needs and provide a judgement-free space to express uncomfortable feelings while co-creating opportunities to explore your whole self and provide space for catharsis and resolution. Through the foundation of relational and experiential therapy, I also incorporate humanistic, existential, and psychodynamic frameworks as indicated to fully support my clients. If needed and accepted, I also utilize tools from motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical-behavioral therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe deeply in collective liberation for all, and that this often starts with tending to and healing ourselves. We all grow and learn in a world that has deep seeded oppression and violence in our everyday lives, and we often internalize that, even when it is against ourselves. I believe therapy can be a space where people can explore the ways in which oppression and violence were passed down to us through our personal and societal histories, and practice disrupting and healing from this inheritance. I support BI&POC, LGBTQ2SIA+, disabled, and class-related struggles. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my cats, baking, drawing, and exploring the woods and waterways in my area.
