About My Clients
Clients that tend to be a good fit for me are highly sensitive folks who at times feel overwhelmed and/or isolated by the challenges of life. I work well with people who identify as introverts, and who want to feel connected to others but struggle to do so. If this sounds like you, please reach out to me. I am currently seeing individuals, couples, and families. Issues I work with include: anxiety, depression, life-transitions, grief and loss, relationship distress, and self-esteem.
My Background and Approach
My training as a family therapist means I view problems and their solutions within the context of your relationships and life circumstances. My therapeutic approach involves three key components: working collaboratively with you on setting goals for therapy, noting together what is working in your life and what is not, and exploring alternative perspectives, skills, and ways of being that might be useful to you. In sessions with you, I do my best to ensure that you feel seen, understood, and appreciated. It is imperative that you experience emotional safety and compassion to grow and change. I offer you a space where you can experience a calm, supportive presence as you explore your concerns. Our work together will also involve exploring the various systems that you are a part of and how those experiences are impacting you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a former arts educator, I believe in the healing power of authentic creative expression. Tapping into our creative selves offers opportunities to express what sometimes seems inaccessible. I strive to assist you in using your creativity as a tool for healing. I also believe that connecting with others and ourselves from a place of compassion is crucial to our well-being. One of my goals as a therapist is to assist you in cultivating compassionate perspectives towards yourself and your circumstances.
