About My Clients
My specialties are primarily focused on those who are struggling with challenges related to trauma and anxiety. My training and experience are primarily targeted toward those who have experienced childhood or adult traumatic experiences or abuse as well as those who are affected by panic and anxiety. I am most helpful with clients who are open to learning and sharing what they experience. I find that clients who are motivated to change and are willing to try therapy techniques benefit the most.
My Background and Approach
I am a trauma and anxiety specialist and have worked with hundreds of clients struggling with these challenges in various clinical settings. It is my passion to help clients find healing from fear and from the past experiences that continue to impact them. I received my graduate degree from the University of Michigan and completed a specialized Post Graduate Training Fellowship through the Kaiser Permanente Psychiatry Department. I utilize and integrated approach as I apply specialized training in EMDR, Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, MI and Solution Focused Therapy. I utilize the methods of therapy that I think will best fit my client and their unique goals. I take an individualized and collaborative approach with my clients. The foundation of growth is a warm, welcoming and honest space that I facilitate through empathy and curiosity.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Since I first started considering a career, I knew that I wanted to do something that offered direct support and service to others. This has guided my career in various roles and continues to be my main motivation for being a therapist. I believe kindness and compassion are some of the most healing elements we can offer to another person. This is essential for quality therapy. I've also lived overseas during various years of my life and was exposed to a wide range of people and cultures throughout my life. This has helped me to develop cultural humility and curiosity, which I utilize daily in my practice. I get excited to learn the stories, histories, and perspectives of all people I work with. This includes individuals from the international, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ communities.
