About My Clients
I see clients from all walks of life, and I specialize in Gestalt Therapy, EMDR, and EFT for 2SLGBTQIA+ folx and their loved ones. Additional populations and experiences I have expertise in serving are chronic illness/pain, disability, neurodivergence, kink/BDSM, polyam/CNM, activists, artists/craftspeople, veterinarians/vet techs/animal care professionals, lab techs, academics and students, therapist trainees, and anyone who identifies as part of nerd/geek community or fandom.
My Background and Approach
My approach is non-pathologizing, liberatory, and decolonial, with a body-neutrality ethic. I make space for complexity, intensity, and uncertainty. My primary training is in Gestalt, a kind of mindfulness-based experiential and somatic therapy that encourages us to “be present with what is present.” I also bring in Parts Work, Mindfulness and Self-compassion, Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. All of these modalities play well together, because they help us connect the dots between the emotions, tendencies, and survival strategies we have now and the events, systems, stories, and relationships that shaped us throughout our lives, allowing us to release patterns that no longer serve us and move forward with intention. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR, a technique that helps us change our relationships with traumatic experiences, and EFT which helps us identify, connect with, understand, and communicate our feelings and attachment styles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that people are not broken. Systems are broken, and people justifiably struggle to survive and thrive within them.
