About My Clients
I love working with adults from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, nationality, and religion. I especially enjoy working with individuals with all types of anxiety, ADHD, body dysmorphic disorder, depression, chronic illness obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I have experience working with college students, graduate students, military veterans, parents, older adults, individuals who practice CNM, and other populations.
My Background and Approach
I have a Ph.D. from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and completed my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, in the behavioral medicine service. I was trained in various forms of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), prolonged exposure (PE), and other exposure-based and CBT approaches. I teach skills to help clients lead lives that are aligned with their values, so that they can move toward purpose and meaning in their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a white cisgender woman, I recognize that my privileges influence my context and worldview, and I actively seek experiences, including relationships, literature, media, art, and events, that challenge and correct that worldview. I practice from a Health at Every Size, queer friendly, trans affirming, racial justice framework, integrated with my training in evidence-based mental health approaches.
