About My Clients
I come prepared with both clinical expertise & lived experience to help you heal from disordered eating, body image issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, & other co-occurring disorders. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals within the LGBTQ+ community, knowing that body dysmorphia is particularly prevalent amongst trans and gender non-conforming folks. I believe that therapy is not just about resolving your struggles, but about moving toward becoming a more whole person.
My Background and Approach
While I possess strong experience and training in various therapeutic modalities, I do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach. As I learn more about you and your goals, I will tailor our work to meet your unique needs, whether this means utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Maybe it means using a combination of various modalities! At the core of our work, however, I utilize a psychodynamic approach to help you better understand yourself, your relationships, and your behavioral patterns. I will also assist you in being able to communicate your needs to the important people in your life so that they too can support you as effectively as possible.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My goal is for you to feel supported, empowered, and seen throughout our work together. I take a strengths-based, empathetic approach to sessions and operate from a Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. I believe in the principles of Intuitive Eating and am prepared to collaborate with any dietitians and/or primary care providers who are also on your team!
