About My Clients
I work with people across different life phases, but my primary focus is working with preteens, adolescents, and young adults! If you feel as though you’re filled with anxiety daily, or maybe just want someone to talk to for some additional support, you’ve definitely found your gal. My goal is for you to have a space to show up and be your most authentic self, and I will give that same energy back to you!
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach focuses on being client-centered, where the first step is creating and building a strong therapeutic foundation between the therapist (me) and the client(you!). I utilize techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) for the basis of my therapeutic approach, mixed with spiritual and feminist perspectives. I like to think of the therapeutic relationship as the client being the driver; who chooses the destination and what route we’re taking to get there, and myself as the passenger along your journey who is tasked with pointing your direction back to the GPS every once in a while. I believe that the world we live in and the things around us shape who we are as people, and all of those things matter.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The basis of my work and practice rests on the belief that you are the expert and curator of your unique life experiences; I simply hope that I can be a stepping-stone along your journey! I see myself as being a collaborative and holistic therapist, meaning I like to look at all of the aspects that make you, you! Whether that be exploring where you were born and raised, the schools you went to, the jobs you’ve worked, or your family dynamics- I see you as more than just a person sitting in my office. With my social work background, I use a systemic and intersectional framework as the basis of my therapy (TL;DR; I see you as all of the unique identities that you come to the table with, with all of your lived experiences, values, and goals).
