My Background and Approach
I am passionate about helping people thrive, feel fulfilled, and empowered to make change. My approach to therapy is based in science and research, with a focus on multicultural and mindfulness modalities. As a second generation immigrant, I understand the challenge in talking about mental health and asking for support outside of the family. You can expect our sessions to be goal-oriented and collaborative to promote, growth, resilience, confidence, and a new understanding of yourself. My style balances being an empathetic person in your life while also holding you accountable and gently challenging you toward making change. Let's work together!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all of us strive to live authentic, balanced lives, and that we are the expert in ourselves. However, forces outside of our control affect our ability to trust in ourselves over time. I want to help you get back a sense of balance in your life and empower you to make decisions that align with your values. Relief from daily anxiety, depression, worry, panic, or sadness usually takes a holistic approach. This might mean combining therapy, medications, nutrition, relationships, movement, and/or spirituality or faith. Whatever that means for you, I would feel honored to help you find it. As a mental health professional, I believe I have an obligation to my community. I make it a point in my life to take stances and action against oppression and brutality of marginalized people. I encompass this throughout my treatment, my research, my relationships, and the way I live my life.
