About My Clients
I work with people to address general mental health concerns, trauma history, personality disorders, self harm struggles and suicidal idealizations. I work with people from all walks of life and want to support your unique identity. I am an ally of the LGBTQ community. I care about those struggling with chronic pain and invisible disabilities.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and National Board Certified Counselor who works with adolescents and adults. I address trauma across the lifespan while building up clients coping skills and positive traits. The first step I take in therapy is to engage a client from a person-centered approach to enable a strong therapeutic relationship. In building this kind of rapport with individuals we then can explore the effective approaches and techniques that can work for you. I specialize in EMDR trauma reprocessing, DBT skills building, and am trained in several other therapy approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the first factor in successful therapy is you, the client. A person has to want to do their work. Next, it is important to find the right fit with a therapist you feel comfortable with. This will allow you to work on understanding your struggles and working toward what my goal is for you. That is for you to succeed in whatever life pursuits and stage of life that you are in. I may have to challenge some of your thoughts and beliefs and when that is necessary, we can work together to traverse the struggles that come up.
