About My Clients

Most of my clients are diagnosed with an eating disorder or borderline personality disorder due to my experience with both and my levels of empathy and compassion for both. I fight to combat stigmas against these disorders and I strive to recognize those who suffer from them for who they are- people. Most of my clients have also experienced trauma, which I can help them process and begin their healing journey. But no matter your diagnosis, I am here for you.

My Background and Approach

Though I primarily work with eating disorders, borderline personality, and trauma, I also have experience with clinical depression, psychosis, self-harm, relationship struggles, dissociative disorders, anxiety, body dysmorphia, ADHD, and Autism. I believe every client has different needs, therefore I use different therapeutic approaches for different clients. I incorporate methods from CBT, DBT, schema therapy, and even existentialism to help clients overcome their disorders and cope with symptoms. I provide every client with compassion, empathy, and unconditional positive regard to build rapport and develop the therapeutic relationship. Research indicates the most important aspect of counseling is the client-counselor relationship and I am eager to build this relationship with all my client to best guide them in their journey to recovery and to help them navigate their way through the stormy waters of life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe all individuals should be treated equally. I believe there should not be a difference in treatment of people based on gender, sex, race, ethnicity, age, class, etc. but I recognize that the world does not operate in fairness, equality, or equity. I do, however, feel the right thing to do is to advocate for fairness, equality, and equity. To advocate for those who need advocacy. To fight for those who deserve more human rights. Everyone deserves human rights. I want to live in a world where the LGBTQ+ community isn't afraid. Where Black Lives truly Matter. Where people are treated with respect and dignity.
