About My Clients
We all struggle at some point. Some with anxiety or depression. Some come with trauma, some wrestle with personal relationships. Others have identity issues. Still others find themselves dealing with a sudden diagnosis or terrible physical pain. Finally, others just need some mentoring or coaching - with career or another issue where they need to talk it out with an objective party.
My Background and Approach
I received my Masters from the University of Chicago. My focus was on Cognitive Behavioral therapy. I have had the opportunity to work with adults, teens, veterans, LGBTQ, neurodiverse, homeless and trauma survivors. I'm a pragmatic therapist who focuses on the present. I want to hear where you feel you're stuck and what's getting in the way. Do you have a vision of your future? Are you feeling overwhelmed? How do you cope? Do you feel you have the life skills you need? Are you repeating unhealthy patterns? I ask a lot of questions to help you come up with the best plan that will get back on track and embracing your future. I work with clients from a solution-focused model. We will look at the problem and then come up together with solutions that you feel are workable.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I truly believe change and success are possible. I have seen it happen time and again working with clients. Most people just need some support or a little push. Therapy has helped clients: change unhelpful behaviors; stop avoiding people & places so that they could re-engage their life in a meaningful way; learn practical skills to reduce and manage constant worrying; develop healthier ways of coping; face their fears and live a fuller life.
