About My Clients
Welcome to Texture Therapy, where curiosity and connection come together to explore the weaving of your life. I largely work with young adults, particularly women and LGBTQIA+ folks navigating their identity, relationships, emotional literacy, sexuality, and more. I have a particular interest in working with womxn with ADHD, through the intersection of feminism and neurodiversity. Please inquire about current ADHD Group Therapy options!
My Background and Approach
I provide trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and gender-affirming care to individuals experiencing challenges with depression, anxiety, life transitions, exploration of self-concept and identity, sexuality, emotional dysregulation, communication and relationships, and a wide array of circumstances that life presents. My work tends to focus on the very humanity of these experiences, utilizing systems-based, emotionally focused, and neuropsychological lenses for deeper understanding, and breaking up with our tendency to pathologize very natural, yet complex and nuanced, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. I hold a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland-Baltimore, and am a licensed clinician in the state of Pennsylvania. I’ve been practicing for more than 6 years in both inpatient and outpatient settings with individuals across the lifespan and of various socioeconomic backgrounds.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all doing the best we can with the resources that we have available to us at any given time. With affirming connection and opportunities for safely exploring yourself in context, we can let go of guilt, shame, and judgment in order to have a more engaging and meaningful life. My goal is to practice inclusively, with a commitment to working from trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and harm reductionist perspectives, and affirming of LGBTQIA+, kink, polyamorous, and sex-work communities. I am culturally Jewish and spiritually figuring it out. I am queer and partnered to a (wonderful) hearing-impaired immigrant (currently learning ASL!) I believe that Black Lives Matter, Immigrants are magic, and LGTQIA+ is Beautiful. I believe in the power of relationships and chosen families. I believe there is no such thing as too many plants, books, or pets.
