About My Clients
Are you struggling in your relationships? Feeling depressed and/or anxious? Do you desire more clarity in who you are and what you want from life? Do you love someone in the LGBTQ community and want to know how to support them? If you are dealing with any of these concerns or living with loss or trauma, I can help you find understanding and peace. You can be authentically happy in your life and have fulfilling relationships with yourself but also with those important to you.
My Background and Approach
I have completed extensive training focused on healing from trauma, managing anxiety and depression. A positive psychology, strengths-based and cognitive-behavioral approach is the basis to help clients manage grief, heal from trauma, build healthy relationships and create the lives they want. In working with couples, I draw on the Gottman Method to address challenges in the relationship and build upon your strengths. I am an ally to the LGBTQ community and hold credentials as a Nationally Certified Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor and a Certified Trauma Treatment Specialist.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. There is no limit to human capacity. I think the main reason we develop mental health issues is because they are unhealthy learned behaviors that we have picked up along the way. Which means that I think you can unlearn the unhelpful behaviors and replace them with healthy ones. I LOVE dogs and struggle with resisting the urge to pet all the dogs I see. I don't discriminate against anyone, even if you do not like dogs. I make it a point to participate in marches and community actions that support the LGBTQ community. If you want to learn more about how I can help, do not hesitate to reach out and send me a message.
