About My Clients
I love to support and empower clients around themes of anxiety & overthinking, self-esteem, relationship issues and childhood trauma. I help my clients understand how their past has impacted their thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. Together, we practice self-compassion, breaking unhelpful patterns, and building healthy relationships with ourselves and others.
My Background and Approach
As a relational therapist, I’m not a believer of the “blank canvas” robotic therapist - rather, I enjoy bringing my personality into the space and connecting with you with humor & shared interests. I take an eclectic approach to therapy in pulling from a variety of modalities - AEDP, CBT, attachment-focused, IFS - based on each client's needs and preferences. As a recovering perfectionist and people-pleaser, I can relate to those journeying to be kind to themselves, discover their voice, and effectively communicate their needs to others. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated, insightful, and eager to create healthy and meaningful changes for their future. When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, you can often find me outside hiking/running/camping or at a local coffee shop testing my limits with caffeine. I’m an old soul who enjoys reading, game nights and rewatching The Office and/or Parks & Rec.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a White, cisgender, able-bodied female who holds many privileged identities, I acknowledge the critical impact of intersectionality and systemic injustices on those with marginalized identities. I strive to be an ally through my own inner learning and unlearning, as well as owning my responsibility to educate others and engage in meaningful activism. I practice openly discussing the impact of racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, etc. with my clients, and exploring with curiosity how this shows up in each client's unique lived experiences.
