I am a therapist that believes people are complex and should not ever be forced into "checking one box" to define themselves.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Little Rock, AR

About My Clients

Do you usually feel like you don't belong, don't fit in, or worry about being good enough, doing well enough, etc? Do you have a complex trauma history? Are you fighting through treatment for a chronic/catastrophic illness or caring for someone who is? Do you experience shame and/or guilt despite the evidence that you're doing/have done the best you can? I welcome the privilege to walk alongside you towards healing and wholeness, towards deconstructing society's pressures that block healing.

My Background and Approach

My personal background as a bi-racial survivor of foster care combined with over 30 years of professional experience working with tweens, teens, & adults in medical & psychiatric hospitals, outpatient community-based programs for persons with chronic mental illnesses, residential programs for youth in foster care, private practice, & university settings have built a solid foundation of skills & approaches to work with people of diverse backgrounds & complex situations. I will provide a space free of judgement, filled with patience & active listening to assist you in defining & achieving your goals related to improved mental/emotional health, relationships, coping skills, parenting skills, communication skills, and/or professional development.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I strive to embrace & model the social work profession's core values of service, social justice, dignity & worth of the person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence (NASW Code of Ethics). My commitment to social justice extends beyond just gaining knowledge about diversity, equity, & inclusion. My service & social justice actions include: participating in mental health awareness events, promoting safe spaces/safe zone programs for LGBTQI+ persons in college, marching in PRIDE parades , driving people of color to voting polls, volunteering to support the performing arts, & engaging in research on institutional racism, especially as relates to prisons and child welfare systems.
