About My Clients
I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent folks but accept all adult clients regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Many adults have not had a chance to fully explore and embrace their authentic self due to a lack of support and affirmative spaces earlier in life. Family and community rejection have caused them to repress parts of themselves. This as well as other life experiences can lead to anxiety, depression, and struggles with relationships in the present.
My Background and Approach
I use a relational approach and hold a space of warmth and unconditional positive regard to help folks work through their concerns and free themselves of shame and self-doubt. My practice is trauma-informed, sex positive, and kink and poly/CNM affirming. I seek to empower my clients through increased self-awareness and insight, to feel more capable of overcoming challenges and making the changes they hope to see in themselves. I believe by understanding your experiences and their impact you can develop new strategies and ways of thinking that improve how you move through life and interact with others. The work I do is holistic, collaborative, and respects folks as the experts of their own lives. Together we'll identify behaviors and patterns that no longer serve you in the present. Through a lens of compassion, I will support you in understanding and healing from the experiences that have informed these patterns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all humans have the capacity to grow and change if given the space to do so. As a queer person with ADHD I understand struggles with identity, anxiety and depression personally. It is through my own journey in therapy that I have learned to love and accept who I am, and I feel strongly about wanting others to have this healing experience as well. I place the utmost importance on self-determinism, human dignity, and social justice. My practice is insight-oriented and includes awareness of the external environment and systems that contribute to how clients view themselves in the world. There are unique challenges that folks of different identities face when navigating society and I use an intersectional, culturally competent lens to integrate that understanding into my practice.
