About My Clients
Among other issues, I help my clients reduce anxiety, set healthy boundaries, practice clear and assertive communication, and manage difficult relationships. I work well with clients suffering from developmental trauma, and utilize somatic grounding techniques to teach clients to regulate their nervous systems and create a sense of safety in their daily lives. As a former actor, I am also enthusiastic about helping fellow creatives navigate the unique challenges of an unconventional life path.
My Background and Approach
I earned my MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, and interned at Southern California Counseling Center, where I gained experience working with a diverse population and wide variety of presenting problems. Additionally, I have a BA in Psychology and Theater Arts from Rutgers University, NJ. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as an actor and acting coach for a decade in Los Angeles. Naturally, I bring that lived experience in the entertainment industry, and love working with all creative professionals. But regardless of your vocation, I'm interested in helping you find meaning, joy, and connection in work, love, and play. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and relational. Since every client is unique, I tailor my treatment approach to suit each person, utilizing an eclectic style that borrows from many psychological schools of thought: Postmodern/Narrative, Attachment Theory, Humanistic, Mindfulness, CBT, and others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am deeply committed to social justice, and playing my part in unwinding the damaging effects of systemic white supremacy, patriarchy, and toxic masculinity. I am a proud alumni of Antioch University and community mental health clinic Southern California Counseling Center, both institutions with strong social justice mandates built into their DNA. I stand allied with the LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Neurodivergent, and other marginalized communities.
