About My Clients
I have extensive experience helping adults from diverse backgrounds overcome a wide range of difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, OCD, insomnia, addiction, trauma, acculturation, minority stress, and LGBTQ issues. I offer therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
My Background and Approach
I am committed to provide a nonjudgmental and supportive environment that allows you to express yourself freely as well as feel heard, seen, and understood fully. I strive to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and an authentic connection with you. Drawing from my expertise in a number of evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices, I work collaboratively with you to tailor sessions that best meet your needs. I am an Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Psychologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. I conduct cutting-edge research advancing knowledge of psychopathology and its treatment. Being an active member of the academic community keeps me current on the latest knowledge in the field and enables my practice to integrate the best available research, my clinical expertise, and your unique values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My ultimate goal is for you to break the bondage of unhelpful patterns, realize the power of your strengths, and fulfill the meaning of your life.
