About My Clients
My clients come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. They have various sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship preferences. Some are depressed or anxious. Many need healing from past hurts, coping tools for the present, and hope for the future. All want something to change.
My Background and Approach
I am an experienced therapist, meeting the highest standards of a National Board Certified Counselor, licensed in Washington, Oregon, and California. I am a retired psychology professor, Certified Marriage Therapist (Training by Gottman Institute, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Prepare/Enrich) with training in Sexual Wellness and Transgender Health. My eclectic approach is supportive and effective. I customize plans to address core issues and facilitate change successfully.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people can change, everyone deserves unconditional positive regard, vulnerability is the antidote to shame, and we all need hope. I am an advocate for folx in the queer community, I come from a Christian background and I also help others with religious trauma. I am happily married (30+ yrs) with four adult children and two grandchildren.
