Accepting Clients

Hello, my name is Vinny! I am an associate clinical social worker (ACSW).

Associate Clinical Social Worker in San Diego, CA
Supervised by LCSW #66537

About My Clients

I have a strong interest in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as with people who are struggling with grief and loss. I have 6 years of experience working with families involved with Child Welfare Services and the juvenile dependency court system. This work has put me in touch with many diverse communities, and has taught me about the tremendous resilience, connection, and growth that I believe is available to us all.

My Background and Approach

As a therapist, I meet my clients with compassion, warmth, and a spirit of collaboration. I want to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, and to help you move forward in a way that honors your values and goals. My goal is to help you pursue a life that is authentic to you. I cherish the connections built in the therapeutic space, and would be honored to walk a part of this journey with you. I have received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian Family therapy, Narrative therapy, Solution-focused therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to meet individual needs, which may include: improving your relationships with yourself and others, healing from painful or traumatic experiences, processing grief and significant life changes, or managing feelings of anxiety.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have lived experience as a queer Asian-American from an immigrant family, and part of my interest in mental health has come from my desire to understand and help heal intergenerational traumas that can play out in seen and unseen ways in many of our lives. It is hard to be a person in our modern world, and there are many things that can feel out of our control. However, I believe that our relationship with ourselves can have an enormous impact on our relationships with others, how we interpret daily experiences, and how we move through challenges. Nurturing this relationship, cultivating a self-compassion, can carry us through dark and painful moments. And caring better for ourselves enriches the way we care for our loved ones and communities. What will you do, “with your one wild and precious life”?
