About My Clients
Are you ready to work through and move on from recent or past experiences that are still hurting you? By processing the past and making positive changes in the present, you can heal and recover from the impacts of trauma. I see many clients who are LGBTQ, who are polyamorous, or who work or have previously worked in the sex industry. Whatever identities and experiences you hold, I respect your expertise on your own life and will seek to understand you on your own terms.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in complex trauma including abuse, neglect, religious trauma, and other difficult experiences from childhood. I also work with clients who have experienced more recent traumatic or difficult life events. Whatever you have been through in the past, I will help you recover so you can live more fully in the present. People who have experienced trauma may find themselves turning to addictive substances or behaviors in order to cope, or may find themselves stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. If you're concerned about ways you're coping, I will work with you to build self-compassion, to find new ways of caring for yourself, and to make changes that support you in building the life you want to live. Our work together may include Attachment-Focused EMDR, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and somatic and expressive arts practices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My work is informed and inspired by my lifelong commitment to pursuing social justice. I bring an anti-oppression lens to my practice and seek to come from a place of cultural humility. I believe that healing ourselves as individuals, healing our communities, and healing our world are inextricably intertwined.
