About My Clients
Are you experiencing the after-effects of traumatic events, navigating a transition, or wanting to live more authentically? You may be feeling on edge, finding it hard to trust yourself and others, having difficulty with sleep and concentration, or having intrusive thoughts. EMDR therapy can help bring relief. Or perhaps you are thinking about your career path and seeking more fulfillment and balance in life. We can explore your values and identify actions aligned with your values and goals.
My Background and Approach
My approach is to help you build upon your strengths, develop strategies to manage immediate challenges, and heal the root causes of struggles you are having. We may start with skills to calm your nervous system when you have anxiety or trauma symptoms, or with education to gain insight into your experiences. We may work on strengthening your relationships and support system. As we process underlying issues, my hope is that you start to experience a sense of greater agency, self-worth and authenticity. The techniques I use vary depending on the needs and goals of each client. These techniques include EMDR, parts work integrating Internal Family Systems and EMDR, Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I can be a primary therapist or do adjunctive EMDR sessions for those who already have a talk therapist. Prior to starting private practice, I worked in school settings and residential treatment centers with teens, families and young adults.
