Gender identity issues, sometimes called gender dysphoria or gender conflict, occur when an individual feels an inconsistency between their physical gender and the gender they truly feel or identify with. This most commonly exhibits itself as a physical discomfort with the gender one was assigned at birth, including the feeling of being in the wrong body. Children with gender dysphoria may express disgust of their own genitals or a certainty that they will grow up to be the opposite sex. Some individuals with gender identity issues treat this feeling by physically modifying their bodies to better match their gender identity. Gender dysphoria comes with it an increased risk for depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, and bullying. If you are experiencing gender identity issues, reach out to one of TherapyDen’s qualified professionals today.

18+ years experience providing psychotherapy to clients ages 13+ with a broad range of concerns. I work well with clients who seek support, guidance, and and encouragement necessary to create and maintain value based action each day (living with purpose). Clients tell me they are comforted and motivated by the empathetic, down-to-earth, and solution focused style I offer. I am passionate about creating a strong therapeutic alliance with all clients as the foundation for meaningful change.

I specialize in helping LGBTQ+ folks become your favorite version of yourself. Are you a queer, trans, or nonbinary person who avoids conflict by appeasing others? Do you overdeliver in your professional and personal life to the point of exhaustion? Do you find yourself prioritizing the people in your life and putting off your own needs? I would love to connect with you. I can help you communicate your needs, set healthy boundaries, and increase self-esteem.

Being human is often tough. Sometimes we lose our way and can feel stuck and overwhelmed. Sometimes we would like to change parts of our lives or ourselves but don’t know how. Therapy can be an empowering way to promote healing, growth, and wellness. Often, we initially seek treatment to address a specific concern and then begin to uncover other areas of our lives in which we want to make meaningful change. My goal is for this process to feel supportive, affirming, and appropriately challenging.
