Person-centered therapy, also sometimes called Rogerian therapy or client-centered therapy, was first developed by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. Person-centered therapy borrows from humanistic approaches and is based on Rogers’ belief that all people are fundamentally good and have the ability to fulfill their potential. In person-centered therapy, clients will typically take more of a lead in sessions, with the therapist acting as a compassionate, non-judgmental facilitator. The idea is that, in the process, the client will steer their own journey of self-discovery and will find their own solutions. Think this approach might work for you? I enjoy working with clients of all ages who hold multiple minority identities and are seeking identity development, trauma therapy, or parent training. Many of my clients have jokingly described me as a "process consultant" and "professional poker". I can treat a range of mental health concerns but highly enjoy serving the local LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent community. I have experience writing letters in support of gender-affirming medical interventions (e.g., hormone treatment and surgery).

You are a professional or a student and you are tired. You have worked hard to get where you are, but you are not happy. You are overwhelmed and worried about the future. Maybe you are even having intrusive thoughts, panic attacks, or nightmares. You either have great self-care routines and they just aren't cutting it or you just don't even have the time for self-care. Either way you are drowning. Something has to give and it is time to take stock and make some changes.
