About My Clients
Do you struggle with persistent feelings of dread, guilt, sadness, anxiety, and loneliness? Have these emotions conjured thoughts about how hopeless your situation seems, or how these emotions and thoughts make you ponder even greater questions like 'Why me?' Exploring these thoughts, emotions, and higher questions with a holistic therapist can be a courageous path toward healing which I look forward to walking with you.
My Background and Approach
My approach with clients, while direct, is not authoritative. Within my sessions, I am not the expert on my clients, but their fellow traveler on their path toward wholeness. The relationship I maintain with my clients is mutual in that we are both in a process of learning and exploration. There will be moments within our sessions when we build upon our self-awareness by identifying harmful thoughts through exploring your history. We may also use an artistic medium like music or drawing to identify difficulty emotions, strengths, and your potential for growth. During our sessions we will also develop courage to confront your harmful thoughts and even discover personal insights that enhance a new perspective on your struggles and even how you view yourself and actualize the change you are capable of. I aid my clients in unlocking their healing potential through developing insight and self-awareness through creativity, self-exploration, and developing mindfulness and resilience.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have found that healing is a process with a timeframe unknown to both the client and therapist, but worthwhile no matter the time spent. Signs of growth can be found or achieved within each session as well. My experiences as a therapist and client have led me to see that healing is a spiritual practice that is not confined to only one faith or philosophy on life, but that very faith or philosophy can act as fertile ground for healing. By exploring your beliefs and perceptions, you are already dedicating yourself to your path toward wholeness. Exploration through the darkest parts of ourselves can lead to incredible insights that help us acknowledge the greatest parts of ourselves. I believe that social justice first occurs within ourselves, by acknowledging our capacity to accept ourselves fully, for having flaws does not diminish us, but enhances us.
