About My Clients
I work with relationships and families of all kinds as well as individuals. All relationships are welcome in the therapy space with me – whether they’re romantic, platonic, brand new, long-term, with others, or with parts of yourself. As a queer therapist, I often work with queer and trans folks in my practice. Queerness is a lived experience that permeates all parts of our lives, and you deserve to bring that entire experience into therapy with comfort and ease.
My Background and Approach
I am a graduate of the Masters in Couple and Family Therapy program at Adler University. My therapeutic approach is informed by attachment theory and emotionally focused therapy, collaborative therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I have trained in somatic parts work and somatic attachment theory through The Embody Lab. I have also participated in the Internal Family Systems Institute’s online circle and completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method for working with relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy is an opportunity for liberation from dominant social narratives that don’t work for us as individuals or in our relationships. Divesting from those narratives is more than just a cognitive unlearning process; it involves vulnerability and embodiment. The ongoing and often intergenerational trauma of struggling against oppressive narratives exists in minds and bodies, and I incorporate all aspects of the self that clients wish to bring into therapy. My approach is also informed by the wisdom of collective care and healing that I’ve learned from grassroots disability and racial justice movements. I have participated in mutual aid networks and restorative justice processes for several years and believe strongly in the importance and resilience of relationships. We take care of each other.
