Have your struggled with flashbacks, nightmares and restful sleep? Therapy can help the client regain control over these symptoms that may be putting a barrier between themselves and other people in their life. I can teach you how to identify symptoms, manage them with coping skills and create a supportive community around you.
My Background and Approach
Much of my training has been working with survivors of domestic violence but I also work with many individual on major life transitions. I am an EMDR certified therapist and have also completed additional training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness. Much of my approach is rooted in attachment theory, connecting issues from childhood with challenges a client is currently struggling with. I also consider myself a feminist therapist and support client through the lens of gender equality. In my previous work before becoming an LMFT, I worked with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD teaching individuals social skills. This is a skills I can provide to all clients, as well as tools to help the clients improve their communication skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong supporter and advocate for members of the LBGTQIA+ community and the Black Lives Matter movement. As a feminist therapist, I am also an advocate for equal rights for all genders. I have participated in marches in support of these causes. I come from a military family, which has given me a personal connection when helping military families, active members of the armed forces, and our veterans.
