About My Clients
My clients often come to me during a period of transition. They are going through some sort of life change that feels ungrounding. This can relate to external changes, like relationships, loss or work stress, but it can also be an internal change, such as deciding to start a recovery path, or choosing to heal trauma. No matter the reason, it's a time in your life when you are asking for help, and I am always honored to be a witness to that process.
My Background and Approach
My process is trauma-sensitive and solution-focused. I want you to feel like you are making progress, and for that reason, we will discuss the process and what you want to get out of it. We will also revisit those goals periodically and make sure that you feel like you are getting what you need. It's important to me that my clients feel that our time is well-spent. I have a science background, and choose to use evidence-based practices. But, there is always room in our sessions for you to bring what's important to you, whether that is alternative modes of healing, or your chosen spirituality, I support what brings you peace, and will always try to approach our work together with an open-mind, empathy, and non-judgement.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value the importance of relational healing, especially for those of us with marginalized identities. Sometimes finding a safe place to express ourselves can be hard. But, I believe that experiencing a validating, secure attachment with a therapist can be truly life-changing. I am committed to creating an inclusive space that welcomes my clients to bring their whole self to the session. I specialize in anxiety, substance abuse, as well as neurodivergence and relationship counseling. And I'm particularly passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals in nontraditional relationships.
