About My Clients

My Background and Approach
I believe in self wisdom and that the powerful ability to heal is within each person. I feel its my job to create the space, bring techniques, and facilitate healing and freedom to pursue goals. For the past 25 years I have worked with clients in individual and group therapy settings addressing a wide array of addiction, psychological, and life transition issues. In addition to traditional therapy models, I have specialized training in DBT, and IFS, and Brainspotting for treating trauma, relationship issues, and mood disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are able to create unlimited positive change and growth in their lives. I strive to use effective techniques to heal and break through barriers when appropriate. I make it a point to stay educated and aware of the diverse ways of being in society and participate in marches and community actions that fight racial injustice, gender bias, and support the LGBTQ+ community. I welcome people of all faiths, atheists, and agnostics. Due to my existential approach I believe people have free will to determine the course of their lives and cope with adversity. I believe it is the individual that creates meaning for their existence and that therapy can help examine the meaning a person holds or has adopted as a way of creating positive change.
