About My Clients
Clients who work best with Dr. Eriks are those who are ready for a change. Many individuals are caught in loops preventing them from getting to that next stage in life they are striving for. Those who work with Dr. Eriks consistently provide the feedback that they are grateful to work with a therapist who is willing to challenge them and advocate for positive changes.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Eriks' background consists of attachment focused techniques such as attachment work, internal family systems, EMDR, IMAGO, and psychobiological approaches to therapy. Dr. Eriks is skilled and well-versed in therapy models that are centered on the whole self. While talk therapy can be a big part of this, there is a great emphasis on integrating somatic awareness, intuitive trust, and relational intelligence. Building strong self-awareness and developing a mindedness for others helps individuals grow the whole self and learn to trust and exist better in community and as a solid individual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe strongly in looking at the core of each person. Those who desire to grow and heal from relationships, have to be willing to look first at the self. This need not be done in judgment. Rather, we look at the humanity in the human and find a meeting ground where that individual can identify the love of self and accept the right to be loved and accepted by others. While growing and healing from a place of self-love, it is also important to acknowledge the accountability one often faces in community. We don't omit that, but instead find balance in that. Clients can expect to do the hard work it takes to hold value for both the self and the community and ideally find a place of harmony and acceptance for both.
