About My Clients

You ever feel like something's gotta give? It may be harder to get out of bed. There may be panic attacks looming at every corner. You could be experiencing flashbacks and nightmares related to traumatic or adverse events. I enjoy working with clients to discover what motivates them, as well as what prevents motivation from occurring. My goal is to address your most disruptive symptoms, eventually discovering the root causes of your concerns.

My Background and Approach

The bulk of my career has focused on treating folks with trauma histories, often due to child abuse, neglect, loss, and more. Being a psychotherapist throughout the COVID-19 lockdown gave me specialized knowledge of helping folks cope with ongoing and collective trauma. I approach therapy holistically, addressing thoughts and feelings as well as physical factors such as our nervous system. Mental health does not exist in a vacuum. I'm also passionate about addressing factors, internal and external, that lead to stressors and symptoms. Having new systems of self-care and increased understanding of internal and behavioral patterns can reduce the negative impact of adverse mental health symptoms. I am also extremely well-versed in identifying strategies for digital stressors. Lets face it: most of us spend a bit too much time on our phones or in front of screens. Let's use a solution focused approach while addressing the core motivations of this behavior.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that most folks are inherently good and capable of change. As a bisexual woman, it's been an honor to address topics in session like internalized homophobia, coping with anti-LGBTQ political rhetoric, and other issues specific to this community. I also have experience in the arts- specifically music and theater. I enjoy working with folks in creative careers and understand the specific factors that make those career paths difficult. I also believe so whole-heartedly in a holistic approach to psychotherapy, as it helped me cope with panic disorder and chronic illness. Knowing that change is possible personally and professionally is a gift I want to give to as many folks as possible. When I'm not working, you can find me playing Tears of the Kingdom, playing piano, reading fantasy novels, or hanging with my black cat, Frankenstein.
