About My Clients
Your life looks good on paper, but there is still this nagging feeling that something is "wrong" with you. It's hard to feel like you are fine one week and then feel like you are going crazy another. Maybe the constant pressure of diet culture is causing you overwhelm, or perhaps your relationships are stressing you out instead of fulfilling you. I can help you by providing the space and tools to feel like yourself again.
My Background and Approach
I believe its important to have goals and tasks to propel your growth during therapy. I don't think you should be in therapy forever, and I especially wouldn't want you to feel like the time was wasted. I want to make sure you not only feel better, but are equipped with strategies you can use in the future. My approach is especially well suited for people who feel motivated and are willing to get to work. Through a variety of tools such as breathing techniques, thought exercises, and routine anxiety management, you will be equipped to handle any difficult situation that may come your way. I have been working with clients to reduce anxiety and try to remain calm during some of the most difficult times in their lives. I received my Masters in Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I feel like social work is a calling, not just a career. Social work's professional values of dignity and worth of people, social justice, and integrity are reflected in my personal values as well. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and an ally. I enjoy traveling, crocheting, and fostering kittens through my local Humane Society.
