About My Clients
I enjoy working with clients who have ADHD, anxiety, or trauma. I love working with children, tweens, and teens. I also enjoy working with women in life transitions, relationship issues, or self-esteem issues. I can relate to teachers and love working with that population--I used to be a teacher! I am neurodivergent myself and especially enjoy working with adults who have ADHD.
My Background and Approach
I am a trauma therapist, and approach many sessions through a trauma-focused lens. I am trained in EMDR and play therapy. I often utilize expressive arts therapy in sessions. Expressive Arts Therapy can be used with all ages. Sometimes emotions cannot be expressed through words. Drawing, painting, acting, dancing, singing, and moving can all aid the therapeutic process for healing and recovery. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, thoughtfulness, and a commitment to understanding the person as a whole. I recognize that effective therapy requires more than just applying techniques—it demands a deep connection and a genuine concern for my client's well-being. This person-centered, judgment-free methodology ensures that every individual feels seen, heard, and valued throughout their therapy journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I worked as a public school teacher and school counselor for eight years. While working as a reading intervention teacher, I saw the imperative need for mental health care in the school system. I decided to pursue my master's in school counseling. I began working in private practice two years ago. I am trained in play therapy and EMDR. I believe in the power of therapy; I have personally been going to therapy for 12 years. Therapy has allowed me to grow, heal, and accept myself. I have experience counseling children, teens, and adults throughout all the phases of life. I specifically enjoy working with neurodivergent clients.
