I am passionate about working with athletes, couples, and individuals within the queer community because I believe in the power of creating supportive, inclusive spaces where people can thrive authentically. In my work, I aim to empower individuals to embrace their full selves, recognizing that identity—whether in sports, relationships, or personal journeys—is multidimensional and deserves to be nurtured.
My Background and Approach
As a former athlete, I approach our work using evidence-based psychological strategies like mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and stress management practices. I emphasize the importance of self-compassion and mental recovery, helping athletes maintain a healthy mindset when faced with setbacks, injuries, or personal challenges. Through a holistic approach, I aim to help athletes build resilience, enhance self-awareness, and develop coping mechanisms to perform at their best while maintaining their well-being. My competence to work with individuals within the queer community stems from both personal and professional experience. I am deeply attuned to the complexities and nuances of queer identities, and I am dedicated to creating a welcoming and affirming space for anyone navigating their sexual orientation or gender identity. My qualifications include specialized training in LGBTQ+ issues, cultural competence, and inclusive practices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an advocate for inclusivity, I also provide all with a space to freely express their identity, free from fear of judgment or rejection. The mental health challenges faced by athletes and those in the queer community can be exacerbated by concerns over coming out or finding acceptance. I am committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported, knowing they have a space where their identities are acknowledged and respected.
