About My Clients

I work primarily with adolescents and adults managing issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and life transitions. Additionally, I take a special interest in helping folks from marginalized backgrounds and transition age youth as they navigate the additional challenges life throws at them. My clients want to feel seen and understood, and to have a safe and non judgemental space to explore their emotions, grow, and achieve personal goals.

My Background and Approach

My approach to therapy draws from person-centered and feminist therapies as well as CBT, DBT, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed practices. I believe that therapy should be a safe, collaborative, and empowering space where we can work together to tap into your strengths, develop coping strategies, and foster personal growth. My experience spans over two decades in various mental health roles, from individual counseling to program development and advocacy. I have worked with individuals across the lifespan, with a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. I understand the importance of a tailored approach that is reflective of each individual’s needs and goals. Whether in individual therapy or group settings, my goal is always to help you build a stronger sense of self and learn to manage life’s challenges with increased self-awareness, confidence, and inner peace.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are stronger and more resilient than we generally give ourselves credit for. I also believe in working toward families and communities that don’t require us to be so strong and resilient. That speaks to a balance and interconnectedness that runs through everything I do, professionally and personally. I believe that people are generally doing the best they can with the resources they have at any given point in time, but also that they can do better and develop more resources. Healing ourselves allows us to shape a society that is kinder and doesn’t require so much healing. When I’m not working, you might find me getting lost in a good book, taking a stroll through nature, knitting, volunteering, doing the bidding of my feline overlords, or bumbling through my next home improvement project.
