About My Clients
Does your brain seem to oscillate between overstimulated and understimulated? Are you sick of being overlooked by medical providers because you don’t look like their outdated image of someone with ADHD, autism, or bipolar disorder? Are you tired of getting brushed off because you’re not struggling "enough” or because they gave you medication (or didn’t) and kicked you out the door? But you’re still struggling with tasks like hygiene, grocery shopping, navigating the airport, or feeling lonely?
My Background and Approach
I specialize in therapy that empowers neurodivergent people who may not fit the outdated, ”traditional” clinical picture of neurodivergence, including people of color, women, nonbinary, & trans individuals. I have extensive training in assessing and treating neurodivergent people, including conducting independent clinical research and presenting findings at research conferences in California, Oregon, and Washington. My primary areas of focus are ADHD, autism, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and bipolar disorders. I’ve served as a lead presenter for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), a writer for the International Bipolar Foundation, and a mental health journalist for Insider. Before that, I was a tutor for children with ADHD, ASD, and dyslexia. That’s why I tailor interventions to meet the unique needs of each client, helping you develop self-esteem, emotional regulation, and effective coping strategies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I started the Portland Neurodivergent Clinic because I believe neurodivergence isn’t something to be ashamed of. You're not alone, and you are absolutely worthy of the support & understanding you’ve spent your life looking for. You deserve flexibility, whether that's telehealth individual sessions or Dungeons & Dragons therapy. Together, we’ll help you better understand your needs, collaboratively identify and advocate for supports, and dismantle shame to help you thrive.
