About My Clients

Is it sometimes a struggle to feel understood by others in your life? Are you seeking insight into your emotions, thoughts, identity(ies), the way your lived experiences shape you individually and in relationship to others? I will work collaboratively with you to create a space where you can feel seen as you share your stories and ways of being. If we are successful in creating this space together, YOUR space, it is my hope that it can become a place of curiosity and creativity for you to develo

My Background and Approach

I believe that the most important aspect of counseling is the therapeutic bond and work with clients to build an authentic and collaborative relationship. I do not believe in the hierarchical structure characteristic of many helping professions and view the client as the expert in their lives, even if to the client it may not feel that they are because of their lived experiences. When we work together, you can expect to have a voice and a primary role in your counseling experience. I will work to create a space where you can express and explore your thoughts and feelings as authentically as possible in an effort to gain insight and clarity into your healing and empowerment. I approach counseling "eclectically", meaning I do not think there is one way to "do therapy". I also rely on my own experiences in therapy, as a client, to always hold delicately the courage that it takes to be vulnerable with your therapist as you narrate your story.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

With a background of almost 2 decades in research science, I do not count anything as impossible and have learned to let the "data" guide insight rather than assuming we can know anything. I strive to share this curiosity with clients as we try to understand who they are and move toward who they authentically hope to be. I believe that radical acceptance of ourselves and others can be very rewarding and meaningful and approach counseling (and life really) from a systems perspective, considering the different environments and systems that impact me and each client.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Agnosticism
  • Atheism
  • Christianity
  • Wicca/Paganism
