About My Clients

My clients are people struggling with finding themselves. Whether entering a new life stage, had an important change, or you were not permitted to be yourself due to family, trauma, or other circumstances, I want to help you explore who you are and develop a path to where you want to be. I have personal and/or professional experience working with adoptees, leaving purity culture, and how trauma impacts relationships--with yourself and with others.

My Background and Approach

My background and experience taught me that much of the way we view ourselves and our relationships with others is rooted in the ways other people treated us in the past. I work with clients to challenge negative views of the self and to develop identity, especially parts that may not have opportunities to flourish in a Midwestern environment. I am especially interested in helping people who were forced to live up to expectations they never chose for themselves, whether that be in a multiracial household, career/school, religion, adoption, immigration status, or gender and sexuality. My practice is focused on helping you create fullfilling and healthy relationships built on a foundation of consent. I am sex positive, body neutral, antiracist, intersectional, LGBTQIPA2S-affirming, BDSM/kink and ethical non-monogamy/polyamory knowledgeable. I am trained in Brainspotting, polyvagal- and trauma-informed, and have experience with attachment theories and motivational interviewing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that it is vital to never stop learning and to value lived experience. I support family preservation and upholding equitable human rights across marginalized populations. As an intercountry and transracial adoptee, I work toward adoptee rights advocacy, and I educate about lifelong effects of adoption and provide support to adoptees. It was difficult for me being raised without racial representation and being constantly viewed as outsider/Other, and I work toward social change to help kids like me have access to more opportunities. Growing up in purity culture, I am also passionate about helping others have happy and healthy sex lives and relationships, as well as helping people develop spiritual lives, even if they may not align with their families. I am unabashedly a dog person, and I am happy to see pictures of your dog (or other pet family member). Finally, I love history (my original major), travel, all types of movies and shows, and enjoying good food.
