Accepting Clients

Greetings, and welcome! If you are ready to grow and overcome challenges, then buckle your seat belt -- you have come to the right place.

Marriage & Family Therapist in Los Angeles, CA

About My Clients

I work with individuals and relationships (couples, triads, poly, etc.) from adolescents up. All genders, races, sexual orientations and kinks, relationship styles, waist sizes and mannerisms are welcome in my office. If you have ever been called "weird", "different", or "crazy", then my office is where you come to find out just how "normal" or "awesome" you really are.

My Background and Approach

My background is in the treatment of trauma, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal conflict. I am not the kind of therapist who sits back and only asks you how you feel the every session--I am actively engaged in understanding what your story is, how you got to where you are, and what is getting in the way of getting to where you want to go. I like to focus on helping clients see new perspective and gain new insight. By doing such, I believe they inherently hold the key to self-healing. I like to help my client see the bigger picture--the meaning and purpose behind their actions, and pull apart the things that are getting in the way of these dreams. I come from a position that no two clients respond to the same techniques exactly the same way--we find the approach that treats your specific wounds and sets you fourth with a fresh perspective. You are beautiful, awesome, and lovable -- if you don' know that yet, you are about to.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that all people are capable of self-healing, given they have the right perspective to do so. This I speak from experience, being in your position on the couch (and still am), for many periods throughout my life. Therapy has changed my life, and wish that I could have found the therapist I found in my adult life much earlier. He helped change my life. Being a part of the LGBTQ community growing up in Indiana, society was not my friend. Alongside of this I had other trauma that made situations worse. I was lost, but today I know my purpose and hope to help as many others find theirs. I volunteer regularly with different organizations involved in advocacy for the LGBTQ community -- I also offer counseling services pro bono to help underserved portions of our community. My work here helps me to do so. I am the kind of therapist who answers questions and interacts. Please don't be shy. I hope to speak with you soon!
