About My Clients
I am passionate about serving adults across the lifespan who identify with stigmatized sexual identities and interests including LGBTQIA+, non-monogamous/polyamorous, kinky, and sex-industry work to attentively unfold experiences of stuckness, anxiety, loss, trauma, and transition. I believe that exploring these experiences lovingly and with compassion eases our suffering and allows us to hold space for our humanity and the complexities that arise from our human conditions.
My Background and Approach
I use various approaches in my therapeutic work to support and structure your exploration. These approaches include Internal Family Systems to help you sift and sort through your internal experiences; emotion-focused therapy to uncover and affirm emotional experiences that drive relationships and interactions; existential therapy to situate your experiences within the much larger scope of shared human conditions; somatic approaches to connect with and recover the body as a source of knowledge and wisdom; process-oriented exploration that allows us to zoom in on subtle, less-familiar phenomena that influence your life experiences; and psychodynamic and attachment approaches that make sense of your experiences by understanding and connecting to your personal history and attachment relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a deeply relational person and therapist, believing that if we can build open and genuine relationships with one another where we are permitted to be our true self, we feel more satisfaction and more wholeness in our daily lives. In my vision of therapeutic work, building open and genuine relationships means journeying compassionately together through your various contexts with the intention of understanding more completely what we find there. I do this by both guiding and joining you in more fully exploring your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, behaviors, family life and history, current relationships of all kinds, spirituality, sexuality, dreams, values, hopes, desires, and more. I believe that being a loving and affirming witness to your inner exploration can repair negative views you may carry about yourself, paving the way for you to feel more integrated and whole.
