About My Clients
A core part of the work I do with clients is shadow work. I define shadow work as the process of exploring & integrating the parts of ourselves that are unexpressed and repressed. I also embody the role of a mirror for clients, in order to help facilitate the process of self reflection, empowerment, & reclamation. I want you to become the highest authority over your own truths!
My Background and Approach
I am neurodivergent, witchy, kink positive, I cuss a lot, I am unapologetically Black, and I absolutely center my life and survival around pleasure. By embodying an existential, person-centered, and social justice approach, I strive to support my community in exploring and embracing the parts of ourselves that shame, guilt, sorrow, and oppression have tried to bury. We cannot reclaim the fruits and flowers of our light, without also honoring the guttural and soil-like darkness that lies within us! Together, let us reclaim, rebirth, and rebel!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, it is integral for me to show up authentically in the room. I believe that therapy cannot be as potent and powerful when there is masking of ourselves in the room. Thus, I like to make it known to clients that the therapist in front of them is someone who is first their community member. I am no expert of your life, and I am not an ascended guru. I am a human who is on their own healing journey alongside you. I can only offer you the embodied wisdom I’ve gained from my elders, education, and lived experiences I have learned from along my own healing journey. Although I am cisgender and straight, I would not be the powerful Black femme and therapist I am without my Black and Brown Queer siblings. Thus, my approach to healing is centered in Queer theory!
