About My Clients
As a queer individual and self-identified nerd, I have a strong interest in working with the LGBTQ+ and geek/nerd communities to help explore how our various identities intersect with our sense of self and impact current life circumstances. I also have expertise working with professionals in high-burnout professions and couples/polycules.
My Background and Approach
Asking for help can be intimidating, but it can also be a sign of tremendous strength. Therapy can be a healing and empowering process to help you reach your own solutions to the problems you face. I like to take a collaborative approach in therapy and see myself as a supportive partner in your therapeutic process rather than an expert imparting knowledge. We will examine how you reached the point you are at, what might be keeping you “stuck”, and work to develop the tools, strategies, and plans to help you move forward on a path of your own choosing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You are already the leading expert on your own life and experiences. I believe that a therapist's job is to help reflect that expertise, provide a supportive/empathetic environment, and contribute insight and tools that help you to reach your goals in life. Through my own therapy, I've learned so much about myself and how I engage with the world around me and I'm so happy I get to do that for others in my profession. As a non-binary, pansexual individual, I also understand and value the unique challenges and perspectives in the LGBTQ+ community and those with non-traditional relationships.
