My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is non-judgmental and is rooted in empathy and compassion. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work closely with my clients to identify person specific goals, while also focusing on developing coping skills, increasing abilities to self-reflect, improving self-esteem and self-advocacy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In many ways behavioral health is similar to physical health. We all have it, and we need to take care of it so we can live healthy lives. Taking care of your mental health may feel overwhelming and might also cause feelings of shame, and fear of judgement. You are not alone in this. Talking about your past experiences, stressors and struggles is difficult. We fear change, and the unknown. The good news is therapy can be helpful for most people affected by mental health issues. I take a non-judgmental approach to therapy and will work with you on your identified goals. I believe that everyone has the ability to change and grow at any point in their lives. We have the capacity to reflect on our thoughts, actions and behaviors and change the way we respond to internal or external stressors.
